Winter Skills Course for Runners – Terms & Conditions
By making the full payment of the Winter Skills Course for Runners you are agreeing to the following conditions:
A booking is only confirmed upon recipt of full payment.
To be able to take the course you must have all items on the mandatory kit list as outlined here: https://winterskills.scot/winter-skills-course-for-runners-kit-list/
To be able to take the course you must be mentally and physically fit and healthy. You must be able to comfortably run at an easy pace for a couple of hours.
You must provide accurate information requested by the course provider to be able to take the course.
The Winter Skills Course for Runners aim is to make you a safer winter mountain goer. However you must understand that undertaking activities in the mountains comes with a risk of injury or death. You need to be aware of and accept the inherent risks. You must take responsibility for your own actions and involvement during the course. You must agree to abide by safety decisions made by the instructor of the course.
Cancellation Policy
Thank you for choosing to participate in our Winter Skills Course.
To ensure the best experience for all participants, we have established the following cancellation policy:
1. Cancellation by Participant
More than 45 days before the course start date: Participants may cancel their registration for a full refund minus a 10% administrative fee.
Between 15 and 45 days before the course start date: Participants may cancel their registration and receive a 50% refund.
Less than 15 days before the course start date: No refunds will be provided for cancellations made within this period. However, participants may opt to transfer their registration to another available course date or transfer it to another person for a £50 transfer fee.
2. Cancellation by the Course Provider
The course provider reserves the right to cancel the course due to extreme weather conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances.
Winter weather and snow conditions has a profound effect on the viability of the skills course (or any activerty in the mountains). The provider will do everything they reasonably can to seek out conditons and facilitate the implimination of the course.
In the event of a course cancellation by the provider, participants will be notified as soon as possible and offered a full refund or the option to transfer their registration to another course date. Excluding force majeure.
3. Weather-Related Considerations
Given the nature of the Winter Skills Course, it is important to understand that weather conditions may vary. Courses will proceed as scheduled unless conditions are deemed unsafe by the course leader or ground contions don’t allow for a safe learning environment.
No refunds will be provided for cancellations due to participants’ concerns about normal winter weather conditions, such as cold temperatures or snow. Participants should be prepared for the weather and ensure they have appropriate kit.
4. Medical or Personal Emergencies
In the event of a medical or personal emergency that prevents attendance, participants must notify the course provider as soon as possible. Depending on the circumstances, partial refunds or transfers to another course date may be considered at the discretion of the course provider.
5. No-Show Policy
Participants who do not show up for the course without prior notification will not be eligible for a refund or a transfer to another course date.
